Vita:
Julia Kosegarten grew up in Hamburg. As a classical singer, she was a member of the State Youth Choir for many years and received support from the German Music Council at an early age -under the patronage of the Federal President. While completing her high school diploma, Julia Kosegarten did an internship in management at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where she got to know all the departments and conducted interviews with the ensemble members.
She then studied opera singing and cultural management at the Mozarteum University of Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg. As part of her training, she was allowed to spend several weeks in Paris at the Opéra Garnier and the Opéra Bastille, as well as at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, participating in rehearsals and internal production processes as a guest.
In the genres of Modern / Jazz / Pop Music, Julia also appeared as a backing vocalist on ZDF television shows for the Irish singer Enya (Lord of the Rings film music) and other Hollywood actors.
After completing her studies, she gained important professional experience in program planning, concert organization and welcoming international guests from politics and society.
Julia received a scholarship from the National Theater Mannheim and was invited to participate in seminars and discussion groups on the topic of cultural management. At the BASF Feierabendhaus in Ludwigshafen, she also worked closely with the sponsorship team to organize a piano concert by Rudolf Buchbinder. At the Prinzregententheater in Munich, Julia Kosegarten took on the organization of a cultural evening with orchestra and soloists.
She then spent several months in New York City, where she immersed herself in the visual arts. She enthusiastically visited concerts, galleries and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, Carnegie Hall, and the Metropolitan Opera. She also sought inspiration outside Manhattan at locations such as factory halls.
An exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum gave her the idea of bringing different artistic fields closer together.
This is how the name Cross over Concept Music & Art – COCO MUSIC & ART for short – came about.
Back from the USA, Julia Kosegarten initially worked in artist management. In 2018, she started her own business with Coco Music & Art and realized the Licht&Drama project during the Easter Festival - in close proximity to the Festspielhaus.
In 2019, Julia moved to Vienna to organize further concerts in cooperation with artists from the Vienna State Opera and Wienerroither & Kohlbacher, a renowned gallery based in New York City and Vienna.
Due to the pandemic and for health reasons, it was initially no longer possible to plan further events from 2020 onwards. In 2022, Julia Kosegarten worked for several months as an assistant to the management of a Berlin-based film production company focusing on international politics, culture & science, nature & travel, in collaboration with arte, NDR/ARD, 3sat and Netflix.
Due to another hospital stay starting in October 2022, she took another extended career break.
Julia is now all the happier to be able to work again as a cultural manager and founder of Coco Music & Art. She is currently designing new projects for 2026 together with various cooperation partners and is supported in this by the Berlin Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the team of a specific outpatient clinic.
